Bayer Elanco eliminates fleas, killing and repelling ticks before they bite. In particular, Bayer Elanco reduces the risk of transmission of infantile leishmaniasis (leishmaniasis) transmitted by haemophagous worms or parasites for up to 8 months and indirectly reduces the risk of transmission of canine ehrlichiosis and canine babesiosis for up to 7 months due to its inhibitory effect on ticks.

1. FIT: Adjust the collar around your dog's neck, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably between the collar and the neck.
2. SECURE: Fasten the collar ensuring it is not too tight or too loose.
3. TRIM EXCESS: Trim any excess length of the collar, leaving about 1 inch beyond the buckle.
4. WEAR Continuously: Leave the collar on your dog continuously for 8 months to ensure maximum protection.

Warning
1. Generally, ticks are killed and dislodged from the host within 24-48 hours of infection and do not feed on blood. However, the possibility that some ticks may attack after treatment cannot be excluded. Therefore, the possibility of tick-borne infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded under unfavourable conditions.
2. Although the product has been shown to significantly reduce the incidence of juvenile leishmaniasis in dogs, its repellent (anti-feeding) and insecticidal efficacy against haemophilic ticks (Phlebotomus perniciosus) may vary. Therefore, schistosome bites to dogs may occur and the possibility of transmission of Leishmania infantum cannot be completely excluded. The period of schistosome vector activity coincides with the season of transmission of leishmaniasis in infants, and collars should be worn shortly before the start of the period of schistosome vector activity and continuously for the duration of the risk period.
3. Ideally, collars should be applied prior to flea or flatworm season. As with all long-term topical products, seasonal over-removal of hair may result in the loss of some of the active ingredients associated with the hair, which temporarily and slightly reduces efficacy. However, the active ingredients in the collar are immediately reincorporated, restoring full efficacy without the need for further treatment or replacement of the collar.
4. Treatment of the environment with an appropriate insecticide may also be necessary for effective control of flea-infested environments. The product is water resistant and retains its efficacy even if the animal gets wet. However, it is recommended to avoid prolonged, intense exposure to water and extensive shampoo washing as this may reduce the durability of the collar.
5. Studies have shown that monthly washing with shampoo or soaking in water does not significantly affect tick protection for 8 months after the active ingredient has been redistributed in the fur. However, from the fifth month onwards, the effectiveness of the product against fleas decreases progressively. The effect of shampooing or water dipping on the transmission of canine leishmaniasis has not been studied.
